Stella Savvidou, current Junior at UCLA, will be returning for a fifth year to compete for the Bruins.
Savvidou announced in her video blog posted Saturday that after a long meeting with the coaches at UCLA, they decided it would be best if she red-shirted this current gymnastics season and came back for another year.
Savvidou is still recovering from surgery she had on her wrist last year and upon receiving news that it was not healing as expected, she decided the best decision for her would be to take this season off from competing and properly allow her wrist to fully heal.
Since Savvidou is a Junior, she was slated to graduate next year. Instead, Savvidou will compete for two more seasons for the Bruins; ending her career in 2020.
