Stella Savvidou, current redshirt senior at UCLA, had her appendix taken out recently while her teammates were competing at nationals in Fort Worth, TX.
Savvidou has taken the last two seasons off from competing for the Bruins while dealing with an injured wrist and multiple surgeries.
Savvidou stated that she has now undergone six surgeries while at UCLA, including her most recent; having her appendix removed.
That didn’t stop Savvidou from cheering on her teammates from home, however. She posted a photo on social media of her keeping up to date with the competition on Twitter.
Savvidou plans on returning for at least one more year to compete for the Bruins. We wish her a speedy recovery and can’t wait to see her back out on the competition floor.
