Elite gymnast and future UCLA Bruin, Sydney Barros, was named to the first ever Junior World Championship team.
Barros competed at the team selection competition on Friday at the national team camp, where she placed third in the competition with an all-around score of 54.55. She was selected to be a member of the three-person team to represent the U.S. at the first World Championship competition for junior elite gymnasts.
Barros will be competing June 27-30 at the inaugural Junior World Championships in Gyor, Hungary. Her teammates include Skye Blakely, Kayla DiCello and Konnor McClain as the traveling alternate.
Barros also qualified to compete in the U.S. Championships in Kansas City, Mo. that takes place Aug. 8-11.
