Giulianna Pino, former UCLA gymnastics team member, has been training elite again to compete at the 2019 World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany in October.
Pino told UCLA Gym Source that she qualified onto the Ecuadorian National Team and will be competing in a World Cup in Paris prior to worlds in October.
Pino previously competed for Ecuador at the 2015 worlds competition before attending UCLA.
Pino herself hasn’t made any public announcements about her comeback to the elite world, however, former UCLA Bruin, Sophina DeJesus, announced the news for her in a recent YouTube video.
DeJesus spent some time back in the gym at Woodward with Pino this summer and got it all on video.
Some clips of Pino training in the gym were included in DeJesus’ video, which can be seen below.
Pino spent last season working with the Bruins behind the scenes as a team manager and updated the official UCLA Gymnastics Instagram account’s Instagram stories with videos from meets and practices.
After spending three years with the UCLA Gymnastics team, Pino said that she is no longer affiliated with them.
